Rags & Tatters Cushion

£5.00

We’ve made this cushion type a number of times for clients- making good use of their own bits and pieces. It takes little time to do and there’s not really a right or wrong way to make it, it’s win – win really. The important thing is to keep it casual.

The bits and pieces often don’t look all that encouraging, no more than slivers and odd trimmings, before they’re stitched on, but they work.

Description

Rags and Tatters Cushion

A fun cushion that uses up even the scraps of waste and can mix fabrics of any medium.  There is no particular right or wrong way to do this one, the instructions are simple, and the zipped closure  can be omitted in favour of a slip-stitched closure if you prefer.

The pdf includes: fabric suggestions; cutting dimensions; simple and precise instructions; our tips, guides and watchpoints.

Fabric: any textiles or mix of textiles – check that the fraying level of each strip won’t be annoying or fray until it disappears; much will depend on the intended location – a bedroom chair or den have quite different criteria of course!  We’ve used a mix of woollen cloths  here, but we’ve also used up strips of chintzes, linens and silks for other projects.

Level: Any
