A variation on resist dyeing, it is a decorative textile dying technique found throughout the world in many variations. Tie-dye involves strategically tying certain areas of cloth and dipping either just the tied section or the whole piece into dye or bleach. When dry, the ties are removed to reveal a pattern that can range from tiny dots to intricate shapes.
