An alloyed metal based on iron containing carbon with either manganese, nickel, or chromium and is very strong and workable. Stainless steel is completely rust proof, and as such suited to bathrooms, light switches, curtains poles and outside work such as balustrades and light fittings, etc.; as an alternative colour to chrome, aluminium, nickel or zinc plated finishes; and as an alternative metal to all of these plus brass.
Steel products come highly polished, brushed, or in the slightly greyed and matte stainless finish that we know from kitchen sinks and bowls.
