Furnishings and furniture are the feathers in the nest, there to be enjoyed and to make us feel welcome, comfortable and comforted. Homes that provide refuge, sanctuary and emotional healing are also sensuous, calming and reassuring, and must alert the senses.
If we don’t want to run our hands over it, to feel it, to reach out and touch it, it shouldn’t be there, in the house. Nothing cold, sharp, pointed, prickly, sticky or splintery should be given house room.
