The process of covering another metal–such as steel or iron–with a fine layer of zinc. Very inexpensive, it can look really good indoors; outdoors, it doesn’t rust making it appropriate for galvanised poles and hinges; it is also used for scaffolding sections, which in turn can be re-deployed for outdoor table bases, ‘napping loggia’ frames, pergolas, etc.
Ask any metal fabricator to make something up for you–planting frames, balcony railings, curtain poles or planters, table covering, moulded basins, outdoor sinks and so on.
