A Eurasian heath found on moorland and heathland with a purple-flower; the colour of the flower. In textiles, it may refer to yarns spun from several pre-dyed fibres, and to the textile woven from this yarn. The different subtle tones or colours create a soft, muted cloth that commonly includes mauves and soft greens to recall high moorland.
