A textile finish, in which fabrics or skins are given a smoother and softer surface, and sometimes voluminised by being tumbled at a high speed and at a certain temperature in a large drum. Sand washing, stone washing, and some of the ageing, shabby chic and brushing finishes are achieved by tumbling.
Tumbled stone shows unevenness along the edges of the tiles, that are supposed to resemble age and are tools for informality.
