A small, slightly curved, flat, or crimped metallic or glass ‘bead’ that sparkles from every facet. Often used en masse as complete shimmer…they look especially good by flickering candlelight. Belle Époque dresses were very often beaded with sequins in rows, along the hems or almost all over to add weight and glamour–perfect for dancing.
