As ribs may be woven from a very fine needlecord to wide jumbo cord, the fabric is versatile and useful for sofas, cushions and curtains. Its robust, workman-like feel works well in shabby chic and rural settings; it can stand on its own with almost every fabric–toile de Jouy, chintz, tweeds, damasks, checks and stripes, plaids and florals.
