The lovely greenish–blueish surface weathering that occurs naturally when copper, brass or bronze meets with air, water or seawater. It can be artificially made using acetic acid as the catalyst. The Statue of Liberty is a prime example, as are many beautiful domes, cupolas and external lights.

*Also the pigment derived from this patina that was used for painting and as a dye until the invention of chemical pigments .

Verdigris is a ‘neutral’ colour in interior decoration, similar in use to turquoise, which can be used anywhere and with any other colour. Verdigris lamps, wall lights and chandeliers are softer and less intrusive than many other metals and finishes.
