Tau (or T) is the constant, numerical value (6.28, or twice PI), which is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its radius. It is said to be in line to replace PI.

Using tau

To find the circumference of a 200cm diameter circle, the formula is : T x radius = 6.28 x 100= 628 cm.
