Originally a fine glazed linen (a type of Taschenfutter) from Silesia–a historic region of central Europe with a long history of growing and weaving linen, now encompassing Poland mostly, with smaller areas of the Czech Republic and Germany. Now a dense but lightweight cotton twill weave fabric with a calendered glaze, which is used for pocket linings in the fashion industry. In furnishings it is suitable for all linings and backings.
