This North American tribe from Arizona, Utah and New Mexico has a long history of weaving for their own purposes – namely saddle rugs, blankets and floor rugs. They weave traditionally using upright looms, with the high quality Navajo Churro sheep wool. The designs are creative and distinctive, tending to be either highly coloured in reds, oranges, blacks and gold or in varying tones of browns from dark chocolate to sandy off-whites, echoing the colours of the landscape.

Navajo patterns are always bold and meaningful, from various origins, and will include stripes, diamonds or interlocking squared and diamond borders. The colour schemes and durability of Navajo blankets make for perfect teenage bedcovers and curtains, camping and picnic blankets.
